HCVP Waitlist and Application Process

LMH opens its HCVP waiting list on an as needed basis. (The waitlist is currently closed). When LMH determines that the list is to be opened, public notice of the opening will be made on our website,  local newspapers and through other media as determined necessary to reach potentially eligible households.

Public Notice
The public notice will state that pre-applications for the Housing Choice Voucher Program will be accepted, how they will be accepted and the time frame that the waiting list will be open. Since the demand for housing assistance often exceeds the limited resources available to HUD and the local public housing agencies, long waiting periods are common and therefore LMH uses a two step application process. (1) Applicant will complete a pre-application for purposes of placement onto the waiting list only.  (2) When the applicant is actually selected from the waiting list and invited to complete a full application, they will provide all necessary information needed to establish eligibility.

Applicants are placed on the waiting list in order of the submitted online application and pulled according to LMH preference(s).

Applicants are selected from the waiting list and invited to complete a full application in accordance first with LMH's preferences and then in order of the randomly assigned pre-application number.

Completing a Full Application
Applicants need to submit the following at the time of application:

• Birth certificates for all persons on application
• Social Security cards for all persons on application
• Picture ID for all persons over the age of 18 on application
• All adults on application are required to sign all forms
• Citizenship / Alien status for persons born outside U.S.
• Verification of assets of all household members
• Verification of income for all household members
• Examples of income included but are not limited to:
  • TANF
  • Social Security
  • SSI
  • Employment
  • Unemployment
  • Child support
  • Retirement or disability pension benefits
  • VA benefits
  • Alimony
  • Bank interest
  • Dividends
  • Any other source of income

If you do not provide all the information at the time of your application, it will cause a delay in processing.

Submitting your application

If you received a letter informing you that your name has reached the top of the Housing Choice Voucher Program's waiting list and you have been invited to complete a full application, please access and download the application via the link below. This application is only for recipients that have received written notification from the LMH HCV department.

Please note:  All other applications submitted without LMH written notification will NOT be accepted and will be discarded.
